Field Study on Digitalization of Passenger Transport Services
On 08 September 2026, a delegation from the North Western Province Road Passenger Transport Authority (RPTA-NWP) visited the Kandy Multi-Modal Passenger Terminal Project Office, at the invitation of the Chairman of the Central Province Road Passenger Transport Authority. The visit focused on sharing knowledge and practical experience on the Bus Management System, GPS-based Bus Monitoring System, and bus operations and management. The program provided a valuable platform for inter-provincial knowledge sharing, collaboration and digital transport innovation, supporting the modernization of passenger transport services.

Invitation for Tender Applications
The Road Passenger Transport Authority – North Western Province invites tender applications for the relevant passenger transport routes. Availability of Tender Application Forms and Information Sheets Tender application forms and relevant information sheets may be obtained from the Head Office of the Road Passenger Transport Authority – North Western Province or from the Kuliyapitiya and Puttalam Regional Offices up to 3.00 p.m. on 23 October 2026. An information sheet containing the instructions and requirements for submitting tender applications for each respective route will be issued together with the relevant tender application form. Application Fee A non-refundable application fee of Rs. 2,500.00 will be charged when obtaining the tender application form. All other terms, conditions and requirements applicable to the tender process are specified in the information sheet issued together with the relevant tender application form. Submission of Tender Applications Completed tender applications shall be submitted on or before 10.00 a.m. on 26 October 2026 by either of the following methods: By Registered Post; or By placing the tender application in the Tender Box located at the office of the General Manager of the Road Passenger Transport Authority – North Western Province. Important Notice The route for which the tender application is submitted must be clearly indicated on the top left-hand corner of the envelope containing the tender application. Tender applications received after the stipulated closing time will not be accepted and will be rejected. Opening of Tender Applications Tender applications duly received within the stipulated time will be opened at 10.15 a.m. on 26 October 2026. The Tender Board reserves the right to make the final decision in respect of the tender applications.
